PURPOSE:To prepare the title resin which is low-temp. curable and free from gelation and discoloration by bonding a resin having blocked isocyanate groups to a resin having hydroxyl groups, carboxyl groups, etc., through urethane linkages. CONSTITUTION:Some of isocyanate groups of a vinyl polymer having two or more isocyanate groups in the molecule are reacted with a hydroxylate vinyl monomer to introduce polymerizable double bonds into the polymer, of which the remaining isocyanate groups are blocked with a blocking agent. Double bonds thus introduced are polymerized with an unsaid. monomer component essentially contg. a hydroxylated vinyl monomer and a carboxylated vinyl monomer, giving the title resin which consists of a resin having blocked isocyanate groups and bonded through urethane linkages to a resin having hydroxyl groups, carboxyl groups, and carboxylic anhydride groups. |
