A bio-reactor, esp. for waste water treatment, has a reactor chamber (b) which is partly filled with a microbial culture medium colonised by microbes and which is supplied with the feed stream (2) and a compressed gas (1) at its bottom, a liq. outlet (12) being provided for continuous discharge of the treated liq. stream. The novelty is that the reactor chamber (6) has a bottom inlet (4) for continuous introduction of a reaction medium (U) supersaturated with a reaction gas (G).
