PURPOSE: To provide a folding device capable of controlling the traveling speed of a printed matter so as to smoothly perform the folding work of the printed matter. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with first belt arrangement constitution 28 and 29 composed of an upper belt 28 and a lower belt 29 and rotated at a high speed and the printed matter is carried between the belts. Also, it is provided with belt roller arrangement constitution 37 and 38 composed of an upper belt roller 37 and a lower belt roller 38 and drivable at a variable speed and the belt roller arrangement constitution grips the printed matter sent by the first belt arrangement constitution 28 and 29 at a front edge part and feeds it forward. Further, it is provided with second belt arrangement 30 and 31 composed of the upper belt 30 and the lower belt 31 and rotated to travel at a low speed and the second belt arrangement grips the front edge part of the printed matter fed by the belt rollers and feeds it forward. |
