LAMINATE OF CARBON FIBER FABRIC OF EXTREMELY LOW DENSITY

PURPOSE:To prevent stitch shift and to obtain a form enhanced in storage properties by temporarily fixing an extremely low density carbon fiber fabric by a sheet like article having self-adhesiveness to constitute a carbon fiber fabric laminate and transferring a film-shaped matrix resin to the carbon fiber fabric laminate to produce a prepreg. CONSTITUTION:An extremely low density carbon fiber fabric 1 is temporarily fixed on a support sheet 2 by a sheet like article 5 to which self-adhesive matter 3 is applied. The laminate of the extremely low density carbon fiber fabric 1 thus temporarily fixed is bonded to a matrix resin 12 applied to a carrier sheet 11 under pressure by a press roll 13 so as to turn the fabric surface of the laminate 10 downwardly to be impregnated with the matrix resin. Thereafter, the sheet like article 5 having self-adhesiveness is separated from the carbon fiber fabric 1 through a guide roll 14 to complete an extremely low density carbon fiber fabric prepreg having the matrix resin transferred thereto. By this constitution, the impregnation with the resin is performed without bringing about stitch shift and the prepreg easy to handle and having a form enhanced in storage properties is easily obtained.
