PURPOSE:To eliminate the adhesion of toner to a control electrode by providing the control electrode consisting of electrodes combined in a lattice form and controlling the applied voltages to the respective electrodes so that the adhesion forces to toner due to the electrodes corresponding to the superposition of the applied voltages to the electrodes in X- and Y-directions are selectively changed over with respect to the attraction force of a rear electrode. CONSTITUTION:When toner T has negative polarity, voltage having polarity opposite to that of the toner T is applied to a rear electrode 8 to fly the toner T toward the rear electrode. At this time, the intensity of the adhesion force to the toner T of a control electrode 7 is changed to change the passing amount of the toner T through spatial regions XY... and the toner T is bonded to the transfer belt 2 being in close contact with the electrode 8 to form a toner image. The change of the adhesion force of the electrode 7 to the toner T is performed by changing the control voltage having the same polarity as the toner T applied to an X.Y electrode group on the basis of a video signal by a control voltage applying means. Therefore the adhesion force of the electrode 7 always acts on the toner to prevent the adhesion of the toner. |
