PURPOSE:To bind the movement in the direction other than the peripheral direction of a cage by balls for extending life by varying the cross section of the pockets of the cage to support the balls in a deep groove ball bearing. CONSTITUTION:A deep groove ball bearing comprises the balls 3..., which are held in the pockets 40... of a cage 4, intervening between bearing inner and outer rings 1 and 2 and the grooves 11 and 21 formed in the peripheral faces of the inner and outer rings 1 and 2, which oppose to each other. The cage 4 is divided into two parts by the plane orthogonal to the center shaft line C on the center line of the ball line, and the two parts are connected with rivets 5 in a body. In such constitution, the cross sections of the pockets 40 of the cage 4 are formed in various shapes so as to vary with the depth of the pockets 40 such as a circulate truncated cone shape, that is, a shape that a pocket 40 is tapered caught in toward the outer periphery of the cage 4, stepped cylindrical shape, or combined shape of a cylindrical shape and circulated truncated cone shape. By this constitution, the movement in the direction other than the peripheral direction of the cage 4 is bound by the balls 3. |
