PURPOSE:To provide a gas generator for an air bag provided with a seal member having excellent sealing property. CONSTITUTION:In a gas generator which has a housing, combustion ring 17 demarcating a combustion chamber 5 in the housing, a filter 12 arranged in a coolant.filter chamber surrounding the combustion ring 17, an opening 9 communicating the housing and an air bag and protects the crews from shock by introducing the gas generated in the combustion chamber by the shock, a seal member 14 is provided between the combustion ring and filter. The seal member comprises a circular ring section having width corresponding to the width of the gap formed between the combustion ring and filter, a leg section abutting on the inner peripheral face of the filter, inclining section to which the head section of the combustion ring, and a head section which abuts on the ceiling face of the housing. |
