PURPOSE:To obtain a valve lifter smoothly subjected to stroke motion within the lifter guide hole of a cylinder head even when post processing due to a cylindrical grinding disc is omitted by forming the valve lifter having a columnar side wall part having no draft from the beginning without allowing a hairline to protrude from the side wall part. CONSTITUTION:A cavity mold 8 substantially demarcating cavities 11 constituting the shape of a valve lifter along with a core mold 9 is made possible to split in four directions along the split surfaces l3a positioned within the plane passing the axial line of the cavities and protrusions 14 protruding toward the cavities 11 are provided along the split surfaces 13a of the cavity mold. |
