A vehicle entry aid for a handicapped person and preferably also such auxiliary equipment as for example a wheel-chair, comprises a frame 1 and a carrying unit 2, which is provided to support the person and the auxiliary equipment and which is connected to the frame and can be moved up and down on the frame by a lifting mechanism 3. The frame is detachably attached to the vehicle adjacent to the entrance opening of the same. The frame comprises two uprights 4,5 connected to each other and the carrying unit is displaced along these uprights.
