Method of manufacturing, in a single operation, a composite structural panel, of the sandwich type, consisting of a cellular core made of thermoplastic, of two skins made of reinforced thermoplastic of the fibre-reinforced thermoplastic type in which the fibres are arranged perpendicularly to the axis of the cells of the said core in the case of a honeycombed core, and of one or more metal inserts intended especially for reinforcing the panel and/or subsequent fixing to this panel, characterised in that the said skins (12, 12') are preheated to a temperature of the order of 200 to 220@C so as to render them malleable and to promote their bonding (fastening) by fusion-bonding to the cells of the said core (10) and in that the said metal insert or inserts (18, 18') are preheated before stacking the various elements in a tool for shaping the said panel. The invention also relates to the structural composite panels obtained by the implementation of this method. <IMAGE>
