PURPOSE:To manufacture inexpensive castings having dimensional accuracy by using a consumable pattern partly and putting a consumable pattern between cores for casting which uses plural cores. CONSTITUTION:A consumable pattern 2a is set in a lower mold 1a through sand before a lower core 3-1 is put and a suction hole 4 and a vent hole 5 of the core 3-1 are inserted with the lower part of a suction hole core 6 and a vent hole core 7, respectively. The lower end of the cores 6 and 7 are inserted in holes 9 and 10 of the pattern 2a and the upper end of the cores 6 and 7 are supported above the top of the pattern 2a. Next, an upper core 3-2 is put and an upper mold 8a is put over the lower mold 1a and those two main molds 1a and 8a support the cores 6 and 7 jointly. Thus castings which have dimensional accuracy and use low-priced cores are manufactured. |
