The composition of an inorganic powder proposed by the invention is an extrusion-molding composition for shaping a green body for sintering. The composition is prepared by using an organic polymer as a binder and an organic solvent. Characteristically, the composition contains a limited amount of a sorbitan fatty acid ester or polyoxyethylene sorbitan fatty acid ester ether. By virtue of this unique ingredient, the composition is freed from the problems due to evaporation of the solvent to cause a change in the moldability and stagnant staying of the composition in the extruder machine by sticking to the walls. Also, the composition solves the problem due to oxidation of a non-oxide inorganic powder when the powder is compounded with water and a water-soluble polymer as the binder followed by drying.
