Compost grid - has plastics tubes as the rods between upper and lower longitudinal bars to give grid fields

The grid structure to hold compost, at grid fields, has upper and lower longitudinal bar with lateral and parallel rods between them as hollow plastics cylindrical tubes. The longitudinal bars (3) have U-shaped cross-section with an inner width to contain a plastics tubes, which are inserted and fixed in place at their ends by projections (11) at least at the base level (9) of the longitudinal bars (3). Pref. the projections are collars (11), from the base (9) and over the height of the bars (3), to grip round the plastics tubes, with inner ribs in the collars (11) running axially parallel to compensate for tolerance. One or more of the collars (11) has coaxial openings at the base of the bars (3). Earth pins are inserted into the openings of the lower bar (3) at their bases (9). Both ends of the bars (3) are fitted with hinge eyelets with height displacement for overlapping grid fields. One plastics tube is fitted into the aligned eyelet, as hinge axis at the upper and lower bar (3) of the neighbouring field. Several grid fields interlink in polygon shape, held in place at the corners by inserted plastics tubes as hinge axes. The upper and lower bars (3) at least at two adjacent polygon corners of the grid fields have at least two hinge eyelets at one end, longitudinally placed, for an open side of the polygon to be locked. USE/ADVANTAGE - The grid structure is for compost used in gardening. The grids are made of recycled plastics waste, which are corrosion resistant, and which can be extruded.
