A condensate trap with a thermal control element takes the form of an encapsulated housing (2) with two shell wall sections (6, 6A) and a membrane (1) located in between. One chamber (3) takes up control fluid via a valve slide (14) operating against a seat in the trap wall. One valve stroke is equal to one membrane stroke. A second membrane (1A, 1B) is located with the first in the housing, which is arranged with the first membrane having their open sides coaxial and sealed together at the edges, forming the control chamber. The valve stroke is now equal to the sum total of both membrane strokes. USE/ADVANTAGE - Increase in valve stroke permits faster condensate removal.
