PURPOSE:To prevent the failure and staining of originals owing to errors in decision and the like by disposing the device of measuring the thickness of the originals at the inlet of the apparatus and suspending feeding when the original of the thickness other than the specified is fed in. CONSTITUTION:A paper thickness detecting means 164A consists of a lever 165 and a switch SW1. The lever 165 is supported oscillatably by a revolving shaft 166 and one end 1651 thereof is held inserted within guides 58, 59. The other end 1652 is so made a push the switch SW1. It is so adjusted that, if the thickness of the original is within the limit, the switch SW1 does not actuate and that in the case of the original of the thickness above the limit, the switch actuates. Hence, when the original of the thickness within the limit reaches a detecting element 60, no electric current is supplied to a controller B and normal copying operation is continued; otherwise the controller B actuates to stop feeding. |
