A communications mast is mounted on a support embedded into concrete within the ground. The base unit has a plate (1) with locations at each corner aligned with tube (3) set into concrete. The unit is secured by bolts (27) with stems that pass through tubes (28) having slotted ends (29). The threaded sections engage tapered plugs (31).
