A motor drive for a garage, especially for a garage door is specified, which drive has a drive chain (19), which is tensioned between two deflection wheels, and a travelling carriage (24) which is guided in the longitudinal direction of the drive chain (19) and is connected to the drive chain (19) via a coupling device (30) on the one hand and to the door via an actuating rod (21) on the other. To obtain smooth emergency unlocking and the possibility of locking the garage door, which is to be moved by hand in manual emergency operation, in any desired position, the drive chain (19) is designed as an endless chain which only has chain links and the coupling device (30) is formed by a chain wheel (27) which is rotatably mounted on the travelling carriage (24) and engages in the endless chain (19) and by a manually controlled locking device (29) which optionally blocks the rotary movement of the chain wheel (27) or releases the latter. Manual control of the locking device is by means of a Bowden cable (35) or by means of a resilient plastic snap-on element (37) (Figure 2). <IMAGE> |
