The invertor is used in electric power supply systems. It has reduced capacitance for the switch-over capacitor and higher efficiency for loads that are lower than the rated even at idle running. The invertor consists of a transformer (1), whose secondary coil is connected with a load (17), while its primary coil is in a middle point connected to the positive pole of a power supply source (2). Both edges of the coil are connected to the first and second group (3 and 6), consisting of connected in series diode (4 and 7) and a thyristor (5 and 8). Between the shared points of the thyristor anodes (5 and 8) and the cathodes of the diodes (4 and 7), two switch-over capacitors (9 and 10) connected in series. The shared point of the capacitors (9 and 10) is linked with the anode of an additional thyristor (11) and the cathode of a diode (12), whose anode through a choke (13) is connected with the shared point of the thyristor cathodes (8) from the first and second group (3 and 6). The anodes of the thyristors are connected with the cathodes of diodes (15 and 16), whose anodes are connected with the negative pole of the feeding source (2). The cathode of the additional thyristor (11) is connected with the shared point of the thyristor cathodes (5 and 8) from the first and second group (3 and 6), whose point through a switch-over choke (14), magnetically connected with the choke (13), is linked to the negative pole of the power supply source (2).<IMAGE>
