The compound is used as a growth regulation agent for cultivated plants. It is soluble in water, as a result of which it may be applied without organic solvents or emulsifiers, preventing overdosage of the active substance. α, ω-di-(1-naphthylacetoxy)-poly(oxyethylene) has a common formula<IMAGE>where n takes values from 9 to 100. The hydroxyl groups of the polyethylene glycols turn into naphthylacetate through its interaction with 1-naphthylacetic acid. The compounds are treated in a liquid solvent or in a liquid solvent of a high-molecular polyethylene oxide for stimulation of growth, development and the biological productivity of agricultural crops.
