Mixts. of 20-80 wt. % H2O-reactive Ca sulphate (I) and 80-20 wt. % aluminate-free cement (II) are used as adhesives and jointing agents. (I) is pref. Ca sulphate alpha-hemi hydrate and/or anhydrite. The compsn. may also contain (i) up to 10 wt. % of a redispersible polymer powder chosen from vinyl chloride-ethylene copolymers, vinyl acetate-versatic acid ester copolymers, vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymers and vinyl acetate-versatate-vinyl laurate terpolymers in the mass; (ii) 0.1-5 wt. % on (I)+(II) of Ca (OH)2 and (iii) up to 85 wt. % on the ready made mix of inorganic fillers such as quartz flour, sand, CaCO3, etc.
