The invention relates to a device making it possible rapidly to melt the ice covering a glazed surface or obstructing the mechanism for opening a door. It consists of a rigid part (1), provided with a rigid hand grip (2) and with an orifice (3) which is closed at its upper end by a threaded plug (4) provided with a seal (5). Through this orifice (3) is introduced hot water filling a flexible pouch (6) located under the rigid part (1). There are rubber tabs (7) which are extensions of the rigid part (1) perpendicular to the axis of the hand grip (2). The user grasps the rigid part (1) with the aid of the grip (2) and applies the flexible pouch (6) filled with hot tap water, as well as one of the tabs (7) onto the surface to be de-iced, giving rise to the melting of the ice or frost, and simultaneous drying of the glazed surface. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for de-icing the windscreen, the rear screen, the side windows, and the door locks of motor vehicles.
