The jets (3) situated in a sector of a circle deliver water under pressure from a booster pump (4) to the drums (1,2). A water-cooling system (19-24) is provided for the drum motor and head, transmission oil and hydraulic lifting mechanism. The cooling system is contained in a closed circuit (17) with water-circulating pump (18). This circuit is coupled via a heat-exchanger (9) to the feed pipe system (6,8,10,12,13) for the water under pressure to the jet nozzles. USE/ADVANTAGE - Drum-type mining machine with greatly reduced corrosion in cooling system while ensuring sufficient water supply to jets for dust suppression.
