The invention relates to a filter press arrangement, which comprises a compression device 8 for pressing filter plates 3 together to form a filter plate pack 9 in a separate stage before the plates are arranged in between the end plates 2, and a displacement device 10, which is designed so that the filter plate pack, by means of the displacement device, can be shifted, whilst under pressure, from the press device to the filter press arrangement in between the end plates during the filtering period and, under pressure, from between the end plates after filtering. <IMAGE>
