The clamping shank 11 of a tool for impact drilling or chiselling has at least three rotary driving grooves 13, 14, 15 and at least one locking groove 12. The rotary driving grooves 13, 14, 15 lead into the free end face 16 of the clamping shank 11 in order to be able to axially insert the rotary drivers of a tool chuck into the rotary driving grooves 13, 14, 15. The locking groove 12 is closed at the end which is adjacent to the free end face 16 in order to prevent the tool from being thrown out by the engagement of a locking body of the chuck. In order to significantly reduce the wear on tool shank and tool chuck, the rotary driving grooves 13, 14, 15 are arranged according to the size of their opening areas (arranged radially outwards) in the sequence of the largest to the smallest opening area, and the locking groove 12 is arranged adjacent to the rotary driving grooves 13, 15 with the largest and smallest opening area. For the same reason, the rotary drivers in a chuck according to the invention are arranged according to the size of their base cross-sections in the sequence of the largest to the smallest base cross-section, and the locking body is arranged adjacent to the rotary drivers with the largest and the smallest base cross-sections. <IMAGE> |
