<p>A process for shredding web-shaped material by means of rolls is proposed in which, according to the invention, the web-shaped material is drawn in between rolls with intermeshing toothed-wheel profile and is shredded. By means of the toothed-wheel profiling of the rolls, not only compression loading, but also squeezing loading and flexural loading leading to a shredding and separation of the individual components of the material are exerted on the material to be shredded. In the case of flexible materials, an embrittlement by low-temperature gases before shredding is provided.</p> |
