PURPOSE:To precisely attain correspondence of a position by specifying a distance from each measuring part based upon the delivering length of an optical fiber to be measured when a specific part of the fiber passes the measuring part. CONSTITUTION:A delivering device utilizing a rotary drum or the like to deliver an optical fiber 9 (or a capillary when the fiber is stored in the capillary) delivers the fiber 9 along respective measuring parts. While delivering the fiber 9, the distance of a distribution type optical fiber sensor 6 from a reference point set up near a measuring device is determined by measuring the delivering length of the fiber 9. The delivering length of the fiber 9 is measured by counting up marks 8 formed on the fiber 9 itself in each unit length by an optical means 7 or the like or measuring the length by a delivering length measuring means or the like included in the delivering device itself. |
