PURPOSE:To improve degassing in openings of a metallic electricity collecting plate by filling up an active material mix for electrode into these openings and thereafter pressing the active material mix into contact with the upper and lower sides of the above collecting plate at a uniform thickness. CONSTITUTION:A metallic electricity collecting plate which has a number of openings in regular arrangement and made of an expand metal previously obtained by being cut out in the predetermined shape and size is prepared, and these openings are filled with an active material black mix for positive electrode in the condition of pulverized material of Kneaded mixture. Thereafter by immediately pressing the black mix in the condition of pulverized material or Kneaded mixture into contact with the upper and lower surfaces there of a formed coating layer having a prescribed thickness or by pressing the black mixture which has been previously formed in a sheet with a predetermined thickness into contact with both surfaces there of to obtain a pole plate. The degassing in these openings is sufficiently carried out and filling-up density is improved because of placing black mix into pressure contact. Furthermore, the pole plate of good quality in which the development of crack is suppressed in the opening part and exfoliation and dropping of the active material considerably decreases is obtained by this method. |
