PURPOSE:To realize high brightness of an EL panel by increasing frequency of light emission per unit time. CONSTITUTION:A driving circuit for the EL panel 1 is provided with the IC 2 for driving a scanning circuit, the IC 3 for driving a data circuit, the DC power supply 4, 5 for driving a scanning circuit, and the DC power supply 6 for driving a data circuit. In the circuit, the driving pulses for scanning consisting of two or more pulses to which electrodes alternately change to the reference voltage as a scanning side electrode of the EL panel 1 is successively selected are applied to the selected scanning side electrode.
