<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for recording video signal with which the recording of useless signal is eliminated even when the outside is instructed as a dubbing object but there is no video signal from there. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a signal presence/absence detecting part 60 for detecting whether a signal to perform dubbing exists at an input/ output terminal 5 for inputting/outputting a signal with the outside or not, keyboard 21 for an operator to instruct dubbing, and microcomputer 10 for controlling the selecting state of switch SW1 based on the detected result from the signal presence/absence detecting part 60 when the external input/output terminal 5 is instructed as the dubbing object by this keyboard 21 and controlling a recording and reproducing processing part 50 and a deck 40 to perform recording and reproducing based on the selected video signal.</p> |
