<p>A strip form eyelet with an opening having two sections, forms part of a hook and eye assembly on the upper carrier tape ends for securely holding a sliding clasp fastener in the closed condition. Both the elements are of synthetic material and have elongated slots facilitating sewing on. From the attachment strip section to the foot section of the hook projecting transversely from the flat front face, the hook element increases continuously in size. The hook has a mushroom shape with a projecting rim which in the locked position, pushed through the larger section and into the smaller section of the eyelet opening covers the similarly flat face of the eyelet with at least three of the four sides of the hook. The hook cannot work itself free during use and remains secure until released by hand.</p> |
