PURPOSE:To provide a portable machine employing a rechargeable battery pack which can be operated continuously for a long time without replacing the battery. CONSTITUTION:A battery voltage detecting section 2 detects output voltage of a rechargeable battery pack 1. A residual amount operating section 4 and a comparator 7 make a decision whether the rechargeable battery pack 1 can supply power to a portable machine body 13 based on the output voltage of the rechargeable battery pack 1 and data relevant to the rechargeable battery pack 1 stored in a sequential memory 5 and a memory 9. When the rechargeable battery pack 1 can not supply power to the portable machine body 13, a switch 11 switches power supply for the portable machine body 13 from the rechargeable battery pack 1 to a rechargeable battery pack 15 based on an output signal from the comparator 7. |
