发明名称 PYLON FOR MEASURING RADAR CROSS SECTION
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To reduce the background noise and cost of the title pylon and improve its accuracy for measuring the radar cross section(RCS) by forming a support for mounting a target by piling up ceramic beads having a low dielectric constant. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical support 2 which is mounted with a target 1 on its top, is provided with a positioner 3 at its base, and has a bead-like side face is formed of ceramics. The ceramics is formed to ceramic tiles composed mainly of silica fibers (SiO2) reinforced with a small amount of alumina fibers (Al2O3), with the content of alumina fibers being minimized to the utmost so as to increase the content of silica fibers as much as possible, so that the dielectric constant of the ceramics can be reduced and the support 2 can be improved in rigidity and can withstand a heavy load. Since the support 2 made of the ceramics can reduce background noise and can support the large-sized target 1 which is less in manufacturing cost, the RCS measuring accuracy can be improved and the cost can be reduced.</p>
