PURPOSE:To improve the Q of an inductor due to a tri-plate line whose one terminal is short-circuited by forming an inner conductor wider toward the short-circuit end from an open end in a resonance circuit. CONSTITUTION:It is noticed that a resistance loss caused in the inner conductor 10 depends on a real current flowing in the inner conductor 10. Then the short- circuit side in which the real current is dominant has a wider conductor width d1, and the open end in which a displacement current starts flowing has a narrow conductor width d2. Thus, the prolonging in the length of the line due to the reduction in the line impedance is prevented. In the case of the tapered inner conductor whose line width is linearly reduced from the short-circuit end toward the open end, the result of the simulation of the Q of the inductance shows that no change is present on the line length to secure the required inductance. Consequently, the tri-plate line inductor with a small size and the high Q constitutes the inductor with the wide line width at the short-circuit end and the narrow line width at the open end. |
