PURPOSE:To provide a lithium secondary battery which has high capacity and excellent charge and discharge reversibility. CONSTITUTION:In a X-ray diffraction pattern using synthesis CuKalpha rays generated by mixing lithium salt with manganese dioxide at a mole ratio of 1:2.4 to 1:3.3 and thermally treating the mixture at 250 deg.C to 400 deg.C, lithium-manganese compound oxides wherein 2theta has a peak near 19 deg., 21 deg., 33 deg., 37 deg. 42 deg., 53 deg., or 66 deg. and the strength ratio of the peak near 21 deg. and the peak near 19 deg. is 1:0.7 to 1:1.2 are used as positive electrode active material. |
