PURPOSE:To specify the data chain which constitutes cycle by automatically detecting the repetition cycle of the data enclosed by a series of given data. CONSTITUTION:All kinds of data transition patterns for the continuous data having a prescribed length are extracted from a series of the given data, and an arbitrary pattern is arranged at the top head. Other data transition pattern having the arrangement of the common data to the rear part of the preceding data transition pattern, at the front part, is succeeded to the preceding pattern, and a chain of the data transition pattern is prepared by using the different patterns. The preparation of the chain of patterns is repeated by changing the pattern arranged at the top head, and the existence of the chain which returns again is checked, and the cycle is determined by utilizing the fact that the return time corresponds to one cycle of the data chain. For example, through the processing by a control means for the RPM 12 and RAMs 13 and 14 of a programmable logic controller PLC 10 and a CPU 11, a console 20 executes the determining method through an interface 27. |
