PURPOSE:To automatically optimize the advancing direction of a closed curve composing the shapes of characters/graphics. CONSTITUTION:In a grouped data storage area 22, outline data stored in an outline data storage area 21 is stored as data grouped every closed curve. A direction judgment means 51 judges the present advancing direction of the closed curve to be an object based on the storage information of the grouped data storage area 22. An inclusion relation judgment means 52 counts the number of closed curve surrounding the closed curve to be the object based on the storage information of the grouped data storage area 22. A change means 53 decides whether the advancing direction to be the object is right or wrong based on the judgment result by the direction judgment means 51 and the judgment result by the inclusion relation judgment means 52. When the advancing direction is right, the advancing direction remains unchanged. When the advancing direction is not right, the advancing direction of a pertinent closed curve stored in the outline data storage means 21 is changed. |
