PURPOSE:To minimize the wiring volume and to miniaturize a substrate to miniaturize a device by using the serial inputs and the parallel outputs of shift registers. CONSTITUTION:A data width converting device 3 to which a read only memory 1 which outputs k-bit data (k>=1) at a time and a processor 2 which processes n-fold nk-bit data (n>=1) are connected, is provided, and k shift registers 10 each of which corresponds to each bit outputted from the read only memory 1 and consists of n stages of flip flops, and outgoing lines from respective flip flops to the processor 2 are arranged in parallel in the order of the outgoing line of n-th stage, that of the (n-1)th stage,... that of the first stage, and data in shift registers 10 are simultaneously outputted by outgoing lines each time when n data are outputted from the read only memory 1 are provided. Thus, serial inputs and parallel outputs of shift registers 10 are used. |
