PURPOSE:To provide a lithium secondary battery which has high capacity and excellent charge and discharge reversibility. CONSTITUTION:In a X-ray diffraction pattern using synthesis CuKalpha rays generated by reacting lithium salt with electrolytic manganese dioxide which is neutralized by NH4OH and has a BET ratio surface area of 30 to 100m<2>/g, lithium- manganese compound oxides wherein 2theta has a peak near 19 deg., 21 deg., 33 deg., 37 deg., 42 deg., 53 deg., or 66 deg. and the strength ratio of the peak near 21 deg. and the peak near 19 deg. is 1:0.7 to 1:1.2 are used as positive electrode acive material. |
