PURPOSE:To provide a cable excellent in electric characteristic by covering a conductor with a resin layer including a water crosslinking material of an ethylene copolymer having a predetermined composition and characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A conductor is covered with a resin layer containing a water crosslinking material made of a polyethylene polymer described below, thus obtaining a cable. The ethylene copolymer includes 0.001-15% by weight of at least one kind of unsaturated silane compounds expressed by a formula: (CH3O)3Si(CH2)nCH=CH2 (wherein (n) represents an integer of 2-10), having 20 or lower of a molecular weight distribution (MW/MN) and 0.1-20g/min. of a melt flow rate, and incorporating 0.5ppm by weight or lower of chlorine. It is possible to use any of a radical polymerization initiator, a comonomer and a chain transfer agent, which are used for homopolymerization or copolymerization of ethylene. Vinyl acetate, methyl acrylate and the like can be used as the comonomer. |
