PURPOSE:To improve electrification characteristics and to prevent filming on a photosensitive body or spent materials on a carrier by incorporating lecithin into the surface of toner resin particles. CONSTITUTION:Proper electrification property is given to toner particles by treating resin particles obtd. by dispersion polymn. with lecithin. The amt. of lecithin in the resin particles is preferably 0.5-5wt.%. The lecithin contains phosphatidyl choline, phosphatidyl serine, and phosphatidyl ethanolamine expressed by formulae. Since these compds. have oleophilic groups of long-chain fatty acid and hydrophilic groups of phosphoric acid and amine groups, the amine parts are fixed to the polymer dispersant which gives negative charges to the surface of resin particles, while the phosphoric acid parts give negative electrification property to the toner. However, if phosphatidic acid is included, it is necessary to preliminarily remove the phosphatidic acid because it prevents coupling of the electrifying component to the toner surface.
|
