Pipe stand for supporting and axially adjusting pipes 21 made of metal so as to make possible welding together of the pipes, at least two pipe stands being used for each pipe 21. According to the invention, each pipe stand has a ground support 1 which has a limited small construction height and has a central opening 4, and a vertical hollow pillar 5 which is rigidly connected to the ground support, has a longitudinal opening 8 on its inner side facing the opening 4 of the ground support 1, and in which pillar 5 a threaded rod 9 is rotatably mounted. The rod 9 has, at its upper end portion, an engagement device 16 for connection of a tool 17 for rotating the rod 9 in the desired direction. The pipe stand also comprises a raisable and lowerable bracket 12 which has a bearer arm 13 with a horizontal bearing surface 29 for the pipe 21 and is in thread engagement with the rod 9 so as to be moved up and down by rotation of the rod 9 by means of said tool 17. The bearer arm 13 and the ground support 1 are dimensioned in such a manner in relation to one another that the bearer arm 13 can be lowered and received in the central opening 4 of the ground support 1 with the bearing surface 29 of the bearer arm 13 located below the upper bearing surfaces 3 of the ground support 1 so that the bearing function of the bracket is ended. <IMAGE> |
