PURPOSE:To provide a cutting method capable of manufacturing a ultrahard material which is represented by high-purity alumina highly efficiently, precisely and at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A work 10 is raised from directly below a wire row 5 while running unidirectionally the wire row 5 stretched at fixed pitches. Cutting is performed by supplying an abrasive liquid containing a boron carbide abrasive grain to a contacting part between the wire row 5 and work 10.
