PURPOSE:To obtain a resin compsn. excellent in heat resistance, dynamic properties and moldability by blending a specific arom. polysulfone with a liquid crystal polyester. CONSTITUTION:A resin compsn. comprises 99-60wt.% arom polysulfone having recurring units of the formula and a reduced viscosity mentioned below, and 1-40wt.% liquid crystal polyester. The reduced viscosity of the arom. polysulfone is 0.2 to 0.7dl/g when measured in dimethylformamide at a concn. of 0.1g/dl at 30 deg.C. A pref. method of preparing the arom. polysulfone copolymer to be used is nucleophilic substitution polycondensation wherein monomers having a hydroxyl group and a halogen atom at the terminals are polymerized in a polar solvent in the presence of an alkali metal or a metallic salt, e.g. polymn. in an aprotic polar solvent in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate. |
