PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing carbonaceous material for activated carbon having high compressive strength, using every kind of coal as a raw material. CONSTITUTION:In a production of carbonaceous material for activated carbon consisting of a first process of powdering a coal, a second process of granulating and forming the coal power and a third process of carbonizing the above granulated and formed coal, the coal is powdered in wet in the presence of water and a dispersing agent to make >=90% of the powered coal to have <=15mum particle size and 10-40mum an average particle size, and geometrical standard deviation of a size distribution of the powered coal is specified to 3.8-8.0 in the first process. |
