The improved starter motor contact has contact elements (18) which are actioned by electromagnetic coils (32). Each contact element is circular with a shoulder head section (20) protruding into a contact chamber. The contact face (22) has a central section with a blind hole, which collects water droplets formed during rapid temperature changes or from a car wash.
