PURPOSE:To easily and cheaply obtain the aqueous elastin solution capable of separating an enzyme and an elastin solution by filtration only and having no contaminated enzyme. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate selected from polysaccharides, aliphatic polymers and aromatic polymers having amino, carboxyl or both groups and being made insoluble in water and gelatin, collagen and polyacryl amine crosslinked by an insoluble crossing agent is immobilized an elastin hydrolyzing enzyme by using a water soluble crosslinking agent. Powdery purified elastin is hydrolyzed in a buffer solution by using the immobilized enzyme and immediately filtered to separate the enzyme. It is not necessary to deactivate the enzyme and the immobilized enzyme can be used repeatedly. Moreover, a degree of hydrolysis is easily adjustable. |
