COATING FOR IMPROVING SMOOTHNESS AND ABSORPTION CHARACTERISTICS OF RECEIVER STOCK

PURPOSE: To improve smear resistance by applying a receiver stock having a coating material which enhances smoothness and absorbency of the receiver stock. CONSTITUTION: This composition includes a recording material which contains a receiver stock 10 having a coating material 14 which consists of substantially about 80% hollow spherular pigment and about 20% binder. An example gives styrene-acrylic emulsion as a hollow pigment and polyvinyl alcohol as a binder. A water-soluble dye can be added to the composition in order to color the receiver stock.
