The at least two tubes (4, 5, 6) are not mutually in fluid connection and with their long sides (12, 13) are virtually parallel. The tubes are double-walled. In the space between the walls of the tubes an absorbent, sprung and heat-insulating material is accommodated. The tubes are formed from plastic foil and a sprung materials between the walls is formed from a foam or filled fibres. The bed base (2) is air-permeable so tha air can pass via the bed base between the tubes. The reciprocal distance between adjacent tubes is preferably between 1 and 2.5 cm. The bed base (2) incorporates distance pieces (14, 15) with a flat part on which the tubes are located and with an upright part which extends crossways over the flat part and to a determined height between two adjacent tubes.
