PURPOSE:To prevent the wear of the part of a zinc rod exposed to a seawater path and to reduce the cost of maintenance of an internal-combustion engine for a ship by embedding lead wires in the zinc rod, connecting a tester to terminals of the wires and detecting electric conduction. CONSTITUTION:Lead wires are embedded in a corrosion preventive zinc rod and a tester 8 is connected to terminals of the wires. Electric conduction is detected and the exchange time of the zinc rod is recognized without detaching the rod. A fresh water cooler wall 6 has been fitted to the zinc rod and seawater 7 flows in the wall 6. Labor is saved and the quality of maintenance can be enhanced. |
