摘要 PURPOSE:To shorten an image processing time and to increase an inspection speed by selectively applying expansion and contraction processing only when a surface to be measured is judged to be a curved surface. CONSTITUTION:The image of the surface of a work is read by a CCD (image pickup element) camera 32 to be stored in the image variable density memory 42 of an image processor 36 and the curvature data of the surface of the work is inputted to the processor 36 from a robot controller 38 to judge whether the surface of the work is flat. In the case of the flat surface, the gradation image data stored in the memory 42 is binary-coded by an image processor 44 to be stored in a binary-coded image memory 46. Subsequently, isolated points are detected from the binary-coded image from which noise is removed and the aereas thereof are measured to judge whether the respective isolated points are painting inferior places to output the judgment result to a monitor TV 50. When the surface of the work is a cureved surface, expansion and contraction processing is performed and the fine particles of the boundary part of bright and dark parts are removed to perform the same processing as the case of the flat surface.
